Introducing Seamless AI Conversations in Slack

Farewell, Slash Commands (If You Want)#

Previously, interacting with Genie often meant memorizing commands like /genie ask or /genie code. While powerful, it broke the flow of conversation.

Now, you can just talk.

Simply mention @Genie in any channel or thread, and ask your question naturally.

You: "@Genie why is this API endpoint returning 401?"

Genie: "It looks like the Authorization header is missing from your request. Here's how to add it..."

Context is King#

Real collaboration happens in threads, back-and-forth. Genie now has Thread-Level Memory.

When you reply to Genie, it remembers what was just said. No need to copy-paste previous context or restate your problem.

Example Flow:

1. You: "@Genie debug this function."
2. Genie: Provides a fix.
3. You: "Can you make it more efficient?"
4. Genie: Refactors the code for performance, knowing exactly which function you're talking about.

Intelligent Streaming#

Waiting for an AI to write a long code block can be tedious. We've implemented Real-Time Streaming for Slack.

Genie's responses now appear token-by-token, just like ChatGPT or your favorite IDE assistant. You start reading the solution immediately, reducing perceived latency to near zero.

Under the hood, Genie automatically detects when you're asking about code. It switches to our specialized coding model to ensure:
